Operation
We focus on light to medium oils and high liquid percentage assets, and balance both matured assets and green assets. We unlock additional values and upside potentials of matured low risk assets by implementing secondary and tertiary recovery processes and/or advanced drilling and completion technologies such as horizontal drilling and multistage fracturing. Meanwhile we catch growth opportunities through holding and exploring new land.
Saskatchewan
In early 2019 SDF acquired a 79% working interest position of a medium grade oil focused asset named Illubrun oil field in SW Saskatchewan. This asset includes two formations for a combined amount of more than 35 million barrels of original oil in place. SDF’s current production plan is expected to produce more than 2.6 million barrels of oil. A third party evaluation recently confirmed the Net Present Value at %10 discount is about $40 million.
In Summer 2023, the Illerbrun oil field was re-activated with one producer and one disposal well. A new battery was also built to serve the operation. Now the Illerbrun field is in production.
Alberta
We are also evaluating a light oil opportunity in Alberta.
